Personal Power Part 3: Power Tools

Power Tools You Can Use Today

Six evidence-based tools—small, practical, and stackable—to multiply your personal power.

“Measure twice, cut once.” — Folk wisdom Part 3 of 3 · Personal Power Series

1) Values Compass (clarify)

Pick 3 values. Write one behavior each for today. Read it before hard moments.

2) 3-Breath Reset (calm)

Exhale long → name the feeling → name the value you’ll act from.

3) If-Then Plan (choose)

If meeting runs hot, then I’ll ask, “What outcome would serve all of us?”

4) DESC Boundary (choose)

Describe → Express → Specify → Consequences. “I’m not available for X; here’s what I can do…”

5) Tiny Habit Stack (change)

After coffee → write one gratitude. After login → read Values Compass.

6) Implementation Intention (create)

“On Tue 9:00am at my desk, I will draft the first paragraph.”
